Information message about the sensitive earthquake which happened on February 27, 2008 in England, United Kingdom

The sensitive earthquake with Ðœ=5.2 has happened on February 27, 2008 at 0:56 GMT (03:56 Moscow time) in England, United Kingdom.
Parameters of the earthquake have been determined in the Alert Service (AS) of Information Processing Center (IPC) of Geophysical Survey of RAS in Obninsk with station data obtained from digital and analog seismic stations of Russia, countries of CIS and from abroad. Alert message on this earthquake has been delivered in 1 ÷ 5 min after registration to the Ministry of Emergency of the Russian Federation (EMERCOM).
Preliminary processing has been done with data from 25 stations, accurate processing - with data 32 stations.
     Fig. 1 presents fragments of records obtained from digital stations Kongsberg (∆ 8.1º), Kashpersky Gori (∆ 9.6º), Vasula (∆ 15.7º), Obninsk (∆ 20.9º), Kislovodsk (∆ 29.4º). Fig. 2 presents fragments of records obtained from digital stations Garni (∆ 32.9º), Borovoe (∆ 40.5º), Kurchatov (∆ 46.1º), Ala Archa (∆ 48.8º), Tiksi (∆ 60.6º).

    Macroseismic manifestations
BBC has reported that epicenter of this earthquake was located in Lincolnshire County. It was felt by residents of Newcastle, Yorkshire, London, Manchester and Norfolk. It is known only about one victim whose leg has been broken by the falling pipe. A few buildings were damaged with the cracks on their walls and broken chimneys. Historical records
In accordance with British Geological Service the earthquakes of such strength happened at the "base land part" of United Kingdom once per 30 years, and they are more typical for the adjacent regions. This earthquake is the strongest after the earthquake 1984 with ML=5.4, which occurred near Lain Peninsula and was felt on the vast territories of England and Wales. Within the whole historical and instrumental period of seismological survey the closest event (approximately 25 km to the north-east) to the earthquake reported here has happened on December 1703 with ML=4.2.
