| On September 11, 2006 the appreciable earthquake has happened at the Dagestan coast of Caspian Sea. It has occurred at 06:23 Moscow Time (02:23 GMT) with magnitude 4.9 and intensity in some settlements up to 5 MSK. |
| Parameters of the earthquake
have been determined in the Alert Service (AS) of Information
Processing Center (IPC) of Geophysical Survey of RAS in Obninsk with station data
obtained from digital and analog seismic stations of Russia, countries of CIS
and from abroad. Alert message on this earthquake has been delivered in 40 min after
registration to the Ministry of Emergency of the Russian Federation (EMERCOM). |
| Preliminary processing has been done with data from 20 stations, accurate processing - with data 35 stations. |
| Fig. 1 presents fragments of records of this earthquake obtained from digital stations Nalchik (∆ 3.6º), Garni (∆ 3.8º), Pyatigorsk (∆ 4.1º), Kislovodsk (∆ 4.3º). Fig. 2 presents fragments of records of this earthquake obtained from digital stations Obninsk (∆ 14.7º), Arti (∆ 15.3º), Borovoe (∆ 17.9º), Ala-Archa (∆ 19.2º). |

| Macroseismic manifestations |
| This earthquake was felt at the Dagestan coast of Caspian Sea from Makhachkala up to Derbent. It had intensity 5 MSK in Novokajakent and Kajakent settlements. In Makhachkala, Buinaksk, Dagestan Ogni and Derbent it was felt with intensity 3 MSK. Automatic emergency interruption has happened at electric substation in Novokajakent settlement as a result of this earthquake. |
