The sensitive earthquake with M=5.4 has occurred on February 19, 2014 at 12:49 GMT (16:49 Moscow time) off the north-east coast of Sakhalin Island. |
Parameters of the earthquake
have been determined in the Alert Service (AS) of Information
Processing Center (IPC) of Geophysical Survey of RAS in Obninsk with station data
obtained from digital and analog seismic stations of Russia, countries of CIS
and from abroad. Alert message on this earthquake has been delivered in 11 min after
registration to the Ministry of Emergency of the Russian Federation (EMERCOM). |
Preliminary processing has been done with data from 21 stations, accurate processing - with data 43 stations. |
Fig. 1 presents fragments of records obtained from digital stations Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk (∆ 5.3º), Kuldur (∆ 8º), Magadan (∆ 8.4º), Ussuriysk (∆ 11.1º). Fig. 2 presents fragments of records obtained from digital stations Talaya (∆ 24.3º), Zalesovo (∆ 34.4º), Makanchi (∆ 39.1º), Kurchatov (∆ 39.2º).

Fig. 3 presents with red star epicenter of this earthquake which origin was located near the East coast of Sakhalin Island, at the depth of 20 km, 35 km E-N-E of Goriachie Kluchi, 52 km N-E of Nogliki and 93 km E-S-E of Neftegorsk. |

Macroseismic manifestations |
According to GS RAS this earthquake was felt in Nogliki, Val, Katangli with intensities 3-4 MSK, in Tungor, Goriachie Kluchi, Nysh with intensities 2-3 MSK and in Okha with intensity 2 MSK. |
Historical records |
The epicenter of this earthquake was located 640 km N of sensitive earthquake which occurred on August 17, 2006 with M=5.6 near Gornozavodsk and 625 km N of Nevelsk earthquake
August 02, 2007 with М=6.2. |
